Shifting to electric vehicles
Adding EVs could be a smart move for your organization
If you’re looking for ways to make your organization more sustainable, this is a great time to consider switching to electric vehicles (EVs). New vehicles are coming to market, and you would add to the momentum that is positioning Oregon as a leader in this clean, green transportation technology.
Oregon a hot spot for EVs
PGE is leading the way on EV adoption. We’re working with state and local government, higher education and businesses to expand the electric vehicle infrastructure in Oregon, bring the newest electric vehicles to market here and develop new business opportunities that benefit the environment. We’ve already partnered with cities and local businesses to install more than 20 plug-in charging stations in our operating area.
Now, Oregon has been included in “The EV Project,” funded by a U.S. Department of Energy grant. The EV Project will bring thousands of charging stations to homes, businesses and municipalities in five states, including Oregon — making charging an electric vehicle easier.
New car and truck options
PGE and the State of Oregon are working with Nissan, Mitsubishi and other auto manufacturers planning to introduce new plug-in electric passenger vehicles. However, for many businesses, an electric truck might be the first purchase for deliveries or cargo transportation. Navistar, Smith EV, Ford and other manufacturers recently announced the development of electric trucks with 100-mile ranges that will start coming to market later this year.
Business benefits
Electric vehicles save money on fuel, reduce maintenance costs and boost your green profile by significantly lowering carbon emissions.
Your organization could also attract customers and retain employees by installing an electric vehicle charging station.
