Special showerhead offers
Save with two special offers on high-performance showerheads.
Switching to a high-performance showerhead is a terrific way to save energy and water. This year, PGE has come up with two ways to make it easy for you to switch, whether you’re a do-it-yourselfer or you want to hire a plumber for other plumbing work.
  1. Do it yourself — special savings for you at George Morlan
High-performance showerheads can be difficult to find at many stores, so PGE teamed up with George Morlan Plumbing to bring in a big shipment of two water— and energy-saving models.

Regularly $14.95, these showerheads are now just $10 each when you mention you’re a PGE customer, or just $5 when you also trade in your old showerhead.

    Your choice:
    • Price Pfister Eco-Pfriendly Showerhead, 1.5 gpm
    • Niagara High-Performance Showerhead, 1.75 gpm

To check stock availability, call these George Morlan locations:
    • Tigard: 503-624-7381
    • SE Foster Road, Portland: 503-771-1145
    • Northwest Portland: 503-224-7000
    • Salem: 503-375-0200
  2. If you need other plumbing work
If you use a PGE-approved plumber for other plumbing work in your home, they can install up to two 1.75 gpm showerheads at the same time — absolutely free! Hurry, offer expires Dec. 31, 2010, but quantities are limited. Limit two showerheads per household.

Look how much you can save!
Water heating is typically one of the biggest energy users in a home. So an outdated showerhead can lose a lot of water and also a lot of energy dollars down the drain. Plus, it can increase sewer charges.

If you have a showerhead made before 1992, it could use up to 5 gallons per minute. Current government standards require 2.5 gpm, and that’s what most stores carry. But high-performance showerheads use a lot less hot water while still delivering a comfortable, even flow.

Amount of hot water used in one 8-minute shower

Showerhead Gallons
5 gpm 40
2.5 gpm 20
1.75 gpm 14
1.5 gpm 12

If you replace a 2.5 gpm showerhead with a 1.5 gpm high-efficiency model, you’d save eight gallons of hot water with every shower. That’s 2,920 gallons in a year!
