Shifting to electric vehicles
PGE is helping power the EV movement in Oregon; what you need to know.
If you’re looking for ways to “green your commute,” this is a great time to start thinking about electric vehicles. New EVs are coming to market, and you would add to the momentum that is positioning Oregon as a leader in this clean, green transportation technology.
Oregon a hot spot for EVs
PGE is helping make Oregon an electric-vehicle leader. We’re working with state and local government, higher education and businesses to expand the electric vehicle infrastructure in Oregon, to bring the newest electric vehicles to market here and develop new business opportunities that benefit the environment. We’ve already partnered with cities and local businesses to install more than 20 plug-in charging stations in our service area.
Now, Oregon has been included in “The EV Project,” funded by a U.S. Department of Energy grant. The EV Project will bring thousands of charging stations to homes, businesses and municipalities in five states, including Oregon — making charging an electric vehicle easier.
New models coming soon
PGE and the State of Oregon are working with Nissan, Mitsubishi and other auto manufacturers planning to introduce new plug-in electric passenger vehicles and commercial trucks.
Consider the benefits
EVs have many benefits — for your wallet and the environment. They save money on fuel, reduce maintenance costs and significantly reduce your carbon footprint. In addition, they qualify for state and federal tax credits.
